Yes, that could be a problem. How about if ANET also added an option for you to overide their helm display settings on your end ?

I may not have a holiday headgear, but I soon will (dragon event). Also, it would be hilarious to see a team of pumpkin heads fighting in a GvG or HoH battle. PUMKIN ARMY!!

Actually I think you should be able to purchase a piece of armor with the stats you want and then apply that to the mask

I'd be happy if they would just make them max armor without any other mods to it.

but i doubt this will happen anytime soon. It is way too hard to change the code. Seem like a minor change but trust me ... it's hard. Maybe something for Ch3.

It's a fun article. Not real armor. It's for laughs, not for battle. Let's keep it that way. Ever seen a battle in a movie or game with people dressed up like on a holiday? Nope. Wouldn't want it that way. Not very realistic in a midieval / oriental style RPG

They should add this, but it costs different amounts of money for how much armor you have it have and you can change it at anytime. For example (going with proph), there would be a npc at ascalon and the max you can make the armor would be the max of armor you can buy there. There would be no additional things you can add to the amor (because it would be the look). At ascalon, it would cost about as much as head armor in ascalon. Thenas you got farther, the armor max you can get, and the price increases accordingly. For example, at LA, the armor max and price would be equal to that of the armor you can buy in LA. So buy droks, you could have the same amount of armor on the event head, and it will cost about as much as a droks armor piece. That way, you can have armor equal to your other armor, so you can accually see people wearing their event armors, yet because you would only have the base armor, and no mods for the armor, you won't only see people wearing special event masks.

god... These are special occasion masks. Wearing them out of season makes you look like an idiot, and the penalties for looking like an idiot is 0 armour. The only way not to look like an idiot wearing holiday items is when you're in town, or when its that time of the season.

Special occasion. Meaning "special". they hold nor should they hold anything more than a decoration on your head.

I cant believe how many people have signed this... Im sure there was a thread about this *goes to look*

Well, here's an idea: They could turn the holiday headgear items into items that can be turned on and off like mini-pets. That way, you could leave your regular headgear on, activate the holiday headgear item, and the artwork for your regular headgear would be replaced by the artwork of the holiday item. You wouldn't actually have to have the holiday item take up your helmet armor slot. That would solve the problem without having to add a new NPC to upgrade the items.
